Unfortunately, Roger did not take the court today as his opponent, Stan Wawrinka, had to retire due to an injury.

After an intense 2 and a half hour match against Frances Tiafoe, Stan said it flared up his back injury and took a toll on his body. Clearly disappointed, Stan said, "Not to be able to play this match in Switzerland is very sad. But I need to listen to my body at this point.”

Roger will now face either Tsitsipas or Krajinovic for a spot in the Finals.

Roger took the court in near perfect form today against Radu Albot. He lost just 3 games as he flawlessly hit targets and dominated the match winning 6-0, 6-3.

Roger will most likely face a more challenging opponent in the next round but still seems to be looking like the favorite at his hometown tournament!

“I’m extremely happy because I really struggled against him in Miami and he definitely got my attention there. I was basically a point away from losing,” Roger said. “It was important for me to show a reaction to that match and come out with a proper game plan. I think I learned a lot from that match."
